Are you continuously stuck in a rut of negative thinking? Do you obsess over people on Instagram and wish you could be like them? Do you find yourself talking negatively on a usual basis? As a population, we seem to spend massive amounts of effort worrying about the state of the economy or the price of petrol, leaving little time to truly allow ourselves to be happy. It can be very easy to fall into this routine of negativity, leading us to feel unhappy and ungrateful.

So what’s the solution? How do we make lasting positive changes in our lives enough for us to stop obsessing over Blake Lively on Instagram and for us to be grateful for what we have to lead a more positive life?

The answer is affirmations!

What is an Affirmation?

An affirmation is a positive saying, spoken in the present tense as if the statement were already a fact.

For example ‘All is Well in My World’

Affirmations work to help us change and for us to live a more productive life that is happy, focused and grateful.

For affirmations to work they must represent something that is making you unhappy in life that you want to change.

Negative

I don’t like my job

Positive

My job is full opportunity and I am grateful I am financially secure.

When we start thinking in a positive way, we can ultimately change the thought patterns in our head to shift away from negativity and into happiness.

Include Only Positive Words In Your Affirmation

Using negative words can influence the subconscious so when thinking of your affirmation include only positive words. For example,  instead of saying ‘I don’t want to be angry’ say, ‘I am at peace and I am calm’.

How Can I Make Affirmations Personal?

Simple. On a piece of paper have two columns, one that reads ‘Negative Thoughts’ and one that reads ‘Positive Affirmations’. With every negative thought, you have to try to change this thought into a positive.

Try This Today and See What Happens!

Starting today by writing three positive affirmations that you can say every day, 3 times a day to change your outlook to becoming a happier new you!

-I love myself and allow myself to be loved fully-

-I am worthy of everything good in my life. I deserve to be happy-
